Amanda Marchand

Amanda Marchand is a Canadian, New York–based photographer and educator whose experimental photographic practice explores the natural world and our changing climate.

Her work has received numerous international honors, including multiple LensCulture awards, the Lenscratch Art & Science Award, and repeated recognition from Photo Lucida’s Critical Mass, and she has been awarded fellowships at MacDowell, the Hermitage Artist Retreat, and Headlands Center for the Arts.

Marchand is the author of several monographs and artist books, including This Earthen Door: Emily Dickinson’s Herbarium (2024), published by Datz Press, and her work has been exhibited internationally, widely published, and collected by major institutions such as The Getty Research Institute, San Jose Museum of Art, the Center for Creative Photography, and the New York Public Library.
